Achievements


In this age of globalization, women's rights, empowerment and creation of a work-friendly environment are essential for building a progressive society. The Department of Women's Affairs is working for the development and establishment of women's rights in the mainstream of the state and society. The Office of the Upazila Women's Affairs Officer, Kaliganj, Gazipur has provided food assistance to 4,952 poor women through VGD activities in the last 3 years. Maternity allowance has been provided to 1,410 women. Lactating allowance assistance has been provided to 650 working women. A micro loan of Rs. 4,20,000 / - has been provided to 26 women. Grants of Rs. 12,30,000 / - have been distributed among 26 societies. Housing and hygienic latrines and livelihood materials have been distributed among 64 selected dream mothers under the Maternity Allowance Dream Package Program for Poverty Alleviation. 1,41,30,000 / - financial assistance and life skills and income generating training has been provided to 942 VGD women by IC NGOs under IC VGD program. Legal assistance has been provided to 61 women directly and indirectly. Over the past 3 years, 15 women have been selected in 5 categories out of all the women who have established themselves in different sections of the society by overcoming adversity through “Bangladesh in Search of Victory” competition. . Various programs have been taken in accordance with the National Action Plan-2013 for the implementation of National Women's Development Policy-2011.
